Kiwi bride weds ahead of high-risk double organ transplant

"Love will overcome a multitude of challenges," is how the story of Jessica Elena Davonport-Lee and Troy Lee Fesola'i begins.

Born with heart complications, Davonport-Lee has undergone multiple operations. After overcoming a near-fatal bout of influenza, she now needs a high-risk double organ transplant, the first of its kind in the country.

The young loves wanted to get married before the operation and, with the help of some generous wedding vendors, the big day went ahead on March 1. 

The heartwarming video, aptly set to Ben Howard's Only Love, was posted by Auckland-based photography service Ylia Trotter Photo & Cinema on their Facebook Page

The 4-minute clip features Davonport-Lee reminiscing while having her make-up done of how she first met her groom-to-be. She's embracing her bridesmaids and enjoying a dance with her new husband.

Her friends thank Fesola'i for his support and helping her to dream big, while the mother of the bride invites him to join them on the unique road they've travelled. Continue reading
