KLAS KIDNEY HELL Ex-Bolton star Ivan Klasnic faces wait for life-saving kidney transplant – but he’s suffered kidney failure twice before

IVAN KLASNIC is hoping for a “happy ending” to his decade-long kidney hell, after suffering organ failure a THIRD time.
The ex-Bolton striker and Croatia international first suffered kidney failure back in 2007.

He has had replacement organs donated from his mother and father, but it appears his body has begun to reject the organs and he needs a third replacement.

The 37-year-old first had a replacement kidney from his mother Sima and then from his father after his body rejected the first replacement.

Klasnic became the first ever player to play in a major international tournament with a replacement kidney when Slaven Bilic picked him to play for Croatia at Euro 2008.

But he has faced various setbacks along the way, and in September last year he was hospital-ridden once again after the organ failed and deemed critically ill.

He has been spending three days a week on dialysis in hospital, while he waits for a new organ… which can take as long as SEVEN years. Continue reading
