Camden Clark Medical Center honors National Donate Life Month

PARKERSBURG — Camden Clark Medical Center recognized National Donate Life Month with an information station where educational materials were distributed.

In the last three years, Camden Clark has had seven organ donations that resulted in 19 lives saved and 34 tissue donations that likely benefited thousands in this same time period, according to hospital spokesman Roger Lockhart.

Participants from the hospital also registered organ donors.

On display was a quilt made by area families who have been affected by organ donation. The quilt highlighted donations that shared the gift of life with others.

There are 122,000 Americans waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. According to Lifeline of Ohio, in less than two minutes, a person can become a hero by registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor. Continue reading
