The knowledge that her daughter's gift gave four people a second chance at life keeps Danah Bozek going through the tough times.

Bozek lost her six-year-old daughter Addison Hall and unborn baby girl Rhiannon in 2014, after the family was hit by a car at the entrance to a London Costco store. Bozek didn't hesitate when it came to donating her daughter's organs. A little piece of Hall lives on in four others , two adults and two children.

“I'm here to help (share) the impact donation can have during the midst of a tragedy. Being involved with Trillium Gift of Life and advocating for organ donation has become an integral part of healing for me,” Bozek told a small group at Stratford General Hospital on Friday.

The London woman is sharing her story across the region during organ and tissue donation awareness month. She wants other grieving families to understand how that gift helps her cope with the loss of her daughter.

“Time is strange when tragedy strikes. Minutes tick so slowly yet everything seems to happen so fast. Losing a child is every parent's worst nightmare,” Bozek said. Continue reading
