Super fan Jarrius Robertson has own Saints card coming out to promote organ donation

New Orleans Saints super fan Jarrius "JJ" Robertson, who needs a life-saving liver transplant, has a new way to spread his message: football cards to promote and encourage organ donation.

Robertson, 15, has already released an LSU card last month in Baton Rouge, and on Tuesday he'll have a new card design, one of him wearing black and gold for the New Orleans Saints.

The card will be released at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Walk-On's on Poydras Street. Cards will be given away to people visiting the restaurant and will remain available at the Poydras location while supplies last.

Both of Robertson's cards have his signature message on it: "It takes lives to save lives."

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jeffrey Marx, a longtime organ donation advocate who produced the cards with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, will give Robertson the first ceremonial card.

Robertson is battling biliary atresia, a chronic liver disease which affects his physical growth. Continue reading
