Women share inspiring organ donor stories as part of Donate Life Month

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -April is Donate Life Month and on Wednesday, two women shared their stories in hopes of inspiring others about the gift of organ donation.

Susannah Hooper and Nita French spent time with doctors, nurses and the staff at Comanche County Memorial Hospital to tell them both sides of an organ donor's life, so they'll remember what they're doing this for. The goal of the presentation was to re-emphasize the importance of organ donation and how it can change peoples lives.

July 4th, 2013, Susannah Hooper experienced something no ever parent should...tragically losing her 8 year old son in an accident.

"Aidan was part of his karate schools float in the Liberty Fest parade in Edmond and at the very end of the parade he came off the float and went underneath it," said Hooper.

Emergency officials tried to revive Aidan, but he did not make it. Hooper immediately thought of something that would be a blessing in disguise. Continue reading
