Bello, DMV staff celebrate Donate Life Month gains

Monroe County Clerk Adam Bello and Department of Motor Vehicles staff in offices operated by the Auto License Bureau recently shared the results of Donate Life Month efforts. 

In 21 days, 3,003 individuals checked yes and selected to give a lifesaving gift, an improvement of over 15 percent from the share of individuals saying yes in March. These 3,003 individuals represent over 24,000 potential future lifesaving donations and 150,000 quality-of-life improvements for recipients.

“I am delighted at the outpouring of support from the community and deeply proud of my team, who went above and beyond in learning more about organ donation in order to better serve customers who had questions about giving the gift of life,” Bello said. “In addition to helping those who had concerns make an informed decision, staff donated their time, energy and even personal funds to help make this effort a success.“ Continue reading
