Family of four-year-old killed by stolen car driver make desperate plea for organ donors

The family of Violet-Grace Youens are urging people to become organ donors.

Her mum and dad, Glenn and Rebecca, are campaigning to get people to sign up to the organ donation register after speaking about how proud they were of their four-year-old daughter’s effort in saving two lives in her death.

Violet-Grace was knocked down by a stolen car speeding at 80mph along the 30mph Prescot Road while walking with her nan Angela French.

The child died in her parents' arms at hospital, while Mrs French, 55, who suffered multiple fractures, is still being treated by doctors.

Glenn Youens says his daughter was a “little superhero” on the day she died as she donated her kidneys and pancreas to allow other children to live “long and happy lives”. Continue reading
