Four years on from our darling Izzy's death

We often think about that special person who gave Izzy the most precious gift - the piece of liver donated to her.
Isabelle (Izzy) Amber Ng was born on April 27, 2012 in Wellington and, at just a few weeks old, was diagnosed with biliary atresia - a rare liver disorder which means bile cannot drain from the liver, eventually causing liver failure. After months of waiting, Izzy received her long-awaited second chance at life - a liver donation. Unfortunately, complications following the transplant proved too much for her little body to take.

Four years ago today, she sadly lost her short fight for life. Her father, Chuck, shares his story of coping with this terrible loss.

It's been four years since we lost our beloved daughter, our courageous little dragon girl - Isabelle (Izzy) Amber Mui Teng Ng.

Our lives were suddenly thrown into turmoil, our hearts ripped from our chests and broken into countless pieces. We felt sad, broken, confused, guilty - you name it, and chances are we've felt it at some point over the past four years. Continue reading
