Public relations students talk organ donation

Public relations students at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh participated in the National Organ Donation Awareness Competition to spread awareness about organ donation across campus and promote family discussion.

“I’m honored to be heading this year’s campaign; our campaign, Blooming Lives, is honest and genuine and for a cause worth celebrating,” vice president of events Carissa Brzezinski said.

The organization conducted a social media campaign, held a flower drive in the student union and also partnered with the university’s grounds crew to plant orange pansies in high-profile beds around campus.

“Our campaign’s main event was the flower drive on Thursday, April 27,” Brzezinski said. “We handed out flowers to students who are organ donors or to those that signed up to be on the national donor list.” Continue reading
