A devastated mother and father have shared the excruciating final hugs they shared with their 22-year-old son before his life-support was switched off - four days after he was the victim of an alleged one-punch attack.

Jaiden Walker from Werribee in Melbourne died days after being coward punched in a city lane way on May 6, now his parents have spoken out about the tragedy.

Jaiden's mother Heidi and father Jon were called to the hospital - they expected to find their eldest son bloodied and bruised - but he didn't have a scratch on him and looked like he was sleeping, the Herald Sun reports.

'We honestly thought we would wait for a few hours and he would wake up with a headache but we would just take him home,' Mr Walker said.

Jaiden had allegedly been hit by a man he 'barely knew' his friend's said they heard his skull crack when his head smashed against the concrete path.

The moment's before the horrific attack were the last moments the well-like 22-year old would ever be conscious.

Four days later after doctors told his family there was 'nothing more they could do' Mrs Walker hugged her son's still body - laying her head against his chest to feel his heart beat for the last time.Continue reading
