Clifton couple celebrates organ donor’s life at recent wedding

Kellye Pummill felt excited as she left the airport in her rental car, traveling to meet the man whose life was saved by her daughter’s organ donation.

Troy Westover grew up in Clifton, Idaho; he has a wife and two daughters and claimed he had been living a normal life at age 40. That was until he received the heartbreaking news in September of 2014, that he only had a couple days to live, a couple weeks if he was lucky.

“The sickness came on pretty fast and my liver just started failing,” he said.

He was added to the national transplant waiting list, and his fate would be determined on whether or not a liver matching his needs would be available in that short amount of time. In October, Troy and his doctors received the call that there was a liver for him.

Every organ donation comes with a blessing and a tragedy. It was a blessing Troy’s life was saved and a tragedy that a young woman lost her life. Continue reading
