Fairview woman leads state organ donor campaign

Brittany Grimm is featured on brochures, video highlighting the importance of organ donation.

Donate Life Pennsylvania believes Brittany Grimm’s smiling face will encourage more people to sign up as organ donors.

The 21-year-old Fairview Township woman is featured in a new campaign designed to increase organ donation in Pennsylvania. Her portrait is on the cover of a brochure and a video of her is posted on Donate Life Pennsylvania’s website, www.donatelifepa.org.

“I was told my photo was going to be used but I didn’t know when it would start,” said Grimm, a student at Seton Hill University in Greensburg. “One day in class I received a text from a kid in my dorm. He said he received a letter from (PennDOT) and guess whose photo was inside?”

Grimm agreed to participate in the publicity campaign, titled “The Human Side of Donation.” She recorded the video this spring, 10 years after she received a heart transplant that saved her life. Video, continue reading
