Family of Beaumont woman hopes to encourage others to become organ donors

BEAUMONT - The family of a Beaumont woman is hoping to carry on the fight supported by Misty Evans. She was an advocate for people and more organ donors.

The 36-year-old mother of three passed away on Sunday due to complications from liver failure.

She was on a transplant waiting list since April.

Elaine Henderson, Evans’ sister-in-law, believes Misty’s wait for a liver brings attention to an American crisis.

Henderson remembers Evans as an incredible mom and supportive wife.

“When she wasn't working, she was doing stuff for her three daughters, she was one of the funniest people I've ever knew in my life…the minute you met her, you loved her,” Henderson said.

Evans was diagnosed with liver failure in February. Due to complications from that liver failure, she passed away on Sunday morning at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Continue reading
