Faith helps Reynolds family through health crises

VACAVILLE — Rene “RC” Reynolds is proof that miracles happen.

The 56-year-old Vacaville man has been gifted a new heart and kidney. The donor was Gary Cromwell Jr., 19. The Vacaville resident was killed Aug. 20 in Fairfield.

Cromwell decided to become an organ donor when his friend, Aaron Malave, was killed Feb. 25, 2015, in Fairfield.

Reynolds and Cromwell knew each other from when Reynolds coached youth football and Cromwell played on an opposing team.

The Cromwell family reached out to Sherrie Boos Reynolds after the young man was shot. They wanted her husband to have the organs he needed.
