King High School graduate Taylor Berry undergoes third heart transplant surgery

Taylor Berry is getting a new heart – today.

Family and friends took to Facebook to announce the 2015 King High School graduate had gone into surgery Sunday in Houston.

“After over a year of waiting and way too many days in the hospital, the hospital finally has a match for his heart! He has a heart!” Jackie Hasson's post reads. "Thank you God for the Christmas miracle."

Berry, 21, has received two heart transplants since he was 4 because of heart disease. He was diagnosed last year with coronary artery disease, which commonly occurs with transplant patients. His heart began to fail so he was put back on the transplant list a third time.

Annette DuVall and her sons, James and John Holiday, lived two doors from the Berry family since Berry was released from the hospital following his first transplant procedure. They've kept up on Berry's condition and posted updates on social media throughout the day, and urged supporters to pray for his recovery. Continue reading
