McCartys Work Together To Overcome Obstacles

February is known as American Heart Month, and in honor of the month-long event, it seems fitting to highlight Aaron "Titus" McCarty who is on the 1A list for a heart transplant.

"I want to get the word out about the importance of organ donation," said his wife of 13 years, Kim McCarty. "He is here right now, but if he gets a call from St. Louis, we have to go straight to Barnes Jewish Hospital because a heart is available."

McCarty, the son of Dick and Johanna McCarty and Dutch and Julie Willman, all of Hillsboro, lives in Irving with his wife, Kim. He also has two siblings, a sister, Laura Durbin and a brother, Brian McCarty, who both live in Hillsboro. The couple have four adult children, Samantha Porter age 24, Trevor Porter age 23, Brooke McCarty age 21 and Leslie Stolte age 20, all who consistently help their parents out while McCarty waits for a new heart.
