Davis Medical Center plans for organ donation awareness flag raising and registration events

ELKINS, W.Va. - April is designated as National Donate Life Month to raise awareness and attention for organ donation.

Davis Medical Center (DMC) in Randolph County will be highlighting the importance of organ donation by hosting a myriad of events. Organ donation saves lives, and officials said DMC will be hosting a flag raising event and several organ donation registration events.

“By becoming a donor one person can help eight lives, and that’s really an impactful number, and we hope by generating greater awareness of organ donation people will become organ donors. Davis for many years has been involved in generating greater awareness,” said DMC Marketing and Development Vice President Tracy Fath.

Alongside the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), healthcare staff will be hosting a flag raising event on April 9 at 11 a.m. in front of DMC Visitor Entrance. Continue reading
