DOVER-FOXCROFT — Mayo Regional Hospital will be celebrating National Donate Life Month in April by honoring those touched by donation and transplantation. National Donate Life Month focuses national attention on every individual’s power to make life possible by registering their decision to be an organ and tissue donor and learning more about living donation.

The number of people in need of transplants continues to outpace the number of donor organs, despite approximately half of the U.S. population being registered as organ donors. On average, 22 people die every day because the organs they need are not donated in time. Registering to become a donor is the most effective way to ensure you can save lives through donation and serves as a sign of hope to those who continue to wait. Continue reading
