Luft's legacy takes a tour along RAGBRAI route

CHARLES CITY — As the RAGBRAI horde approaches Charles City, one rider looks forward to possibly meeting the family of the teen whose life inspired him.

Tony Hager, a former wrestler from Ogden, is dedicating his ride to 15-year-old Logan Luft, who died after an ATV accident July 4.

“My goal is to raise $10 per mile,” Hager said.

His ride Wednesday through Saturday will total 190 miles with a fundraising goal of $1,900. One hundred percent of the funds will be donated to Logan’s family.

“After speaking with Logan’s mom and the family, it gave me more of a passion,” Hager said.

Logan was passionate about three activities: wrestling, fishing and running. More than 1,600 attended the teen’s funeral. Logan would have entered ninth grade this year. Continue reading
