Dad says Daughter Who was Killed in Crash was Proud to be Organ Donor

(ABC 6 News) - It was back in Jan of 2016 when a 16-year-old Fillmore central high school student was killed on highway 52 just south of Chatfield. The person responsible, 55-year-old Cindy Mueske admitted to causing her death.

ABC 6 News Anchor Karsen Forsman who's live outside the courtroom. Karsen you learned today what happened hours before the fatal crash?

Betsy... something interesting about this case is that on the same day of the accident Cindy Mueske allegedly got pulled over in Iowa, passed a field sobriety test and was cited for having an open bottle. Today in court -- she told the family of Kaitlyn Hansen that she was sorry and was going through an emotional day before causing Kaitlyn's death.

In the courtroom -- Kaitlyn's family and friends packed the left side of the courtroom -- a few family members of Cindy Mueske on the right. Mueske's attorney asked for probation and treatment at Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge instead of prison. The judge denied that request and sentenced Mueske to 4 years in Minnesota prison.Continue reading
